Job Title: Director, Business Analytics

At Sun Life, we're seeking a highly skilled Director, Business Analytics to lead our Group Benefits business analytics team. As a key member of our leadership team, you'll be responsible for developing and delivering analytics business support to our Group Benefits business teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop, manage, and deliver analytics business support to Group Benefits business teams.
  2. Collaborate with analytics resources in all relevant technical teams to support delivery of initiatives.
  3. Manage a highly skilled team of employees focused on analytics and data engineering.
  4. Support the Canadian Dental Care Program analytics requirements until April 2025 and potentially further into the future as required.
Requirements:
  1. 7+ years of analytical experience with 3+ years of recent experience in business analytics/BI and/or developing and implementing data science techniques.
  2. B.Sc. Computer Science, Mathematics, Stats, Engineering, and Masters in Management Analytics or MBA or equivalent work experience.
  3. 3+ years of leading a data analytics team, or equivalent experience as a senior member of a team leading projects and providing managerial support.
  4. Expert knowledge and experience in data analytics and application in business strategy for effective decision making.
  5. Demonstrate drive for, and application of, continuous learning on innovations in advanced analytics and industry developments.
  6. Proven ability to solve complex business problems.
  7. Strong inclination to proactively share knowledge and expertise with others to build the data analytics community and capability in the broader company around data analytics.
  8. Expert verbal, written, and presentation skills to communicate and frame complex information simply for senior leader decision making on complex business issues.
  9. Considered an expert among peers on one or more aspects of data analytics and the business.
  10. Ability to interact independently, confidently, and competently with AVP+ level stakeholders.
  11. Knowledge of the GB business is preferred.
  12. As this position is posted in several locations, we specify that bilingualism (French, English, both oral and written) is required for Quebec only for the frequent interactions with English and French-speaking colleagues or internal partners across Canada or worldwide.
