Job Title: Skaabe
Job Summary:
The Southeast Resource Development Council Corp is seeking a skilled Skaabe to join our team. As a Skaabe, you will provide support and services to individuals and families impacted by MMIWG2S+ and residential school survivors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist Traditional Healers and Elders with traditional healing approaches, including fasting, sweat lodge, and pipe ceremonies.
- Facilitate client access to Traditional Healers and ceremonies, ensuring protocols are understood and met.
- Assist with facilitated access for community members, staff, and Aboriginal youth to traditional healing approaches.
- Accommodate and travel requirements of Traditional Healers, maintain a database, and ensure efficient filing systems.
Requirements:
- Demonstrate commitment, respect, and understanding of Traditional Healing.
- Positive, professional, and respectful manner with a desire to help people find their healing path.
- Team player with knowledge and understanding of the health needs of Southeast community members.
- Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience of Aboriginal culture, traditions, and practices.
