Job Title: Permanent Caretaker

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Permanent Caretaker to join our team at the Renfrew County Catholic District School Board. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our schools and administration buildings.

Responsibilities:
  • Clean and maintain all interior and exterior areas of the buildings, including floors, walls, windows, and ceilings.
  • Perform daily and weekly cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming.
  • Operate and maintain custodial equipment, including vacuum cleaners, mops, and brooms.
  • Restock supplies and materials as needed.
  • Assist with special events and projects as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager of Plant Services or Plant Services designate.
Requirements:
  • Successful completion of an Ontario Secondary School Diploma.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in commercial or institutional janitorial work.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, pushing, and pulling heavy loads.
  • Reliable mode of transportation.
  • Basic knowledge of building codes, fire codes, and OHSA regulations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with supervisors, plant staff, teachers, students, and contractors.
Working Conditions:

The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions. The position requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team. The candidate must be able to lift, push, and pull heavy loads, and work in a variety of weather conditions.
