Painter and Decorator

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Painter and Decorator to join our team at Shield Masonry Ltd. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for ensuring that all painting and decorating work is completed to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities- Surface Preparation: Prepare, clean and sand surfaces to be painted, and repair cracks and holes to ensure a smooth finish.
- Painting and Decorating: Apply paint, wallpaper and other materials and finishes to interior and exterior surfaces, using a variety of techniques and equipment.
- Estimation and Planning: Estimate costs and materials required for each project, and plan and schedule work to ensure timely completion.
- Equipment and Machinery Operation: Operate a range of equipment and machinery, including brush painting, conventional spray painting, roller painting, and pressure washers.
- Surface Preparation and Finishing: Use drywall taping/patching, water/hydroblasting, and sandblasters to prepare surfaces for painting and decorating.
- Health and Safety: Ensure that all work is carried out in a safe and healthy manner, and report any hazards or incidents to management.
- Education and Experience: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate and 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in painting and decorating.
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs) and work at heights, outdoors, and in a variety of locations.
- Personal Qualities: Flexibility, reliability, and a team player attitude.
This is a permanent, full-time position, working 40 hours per week. The successful candidate will be required to work at various locations, and may be required to travel.
