The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for direct patient care in a consultative/collaborative model, as well as participation in staff education and research, and program evaluation. The NP will work to full scope to practice within the interprofessional team model. The candidate will provide patient care in accordance with legislative acts and frameworks guiding NP practice such as those from the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO), the Regulated Health Professionals Act (RHPA), the Public Hospitals Act, the Nursing Act and established medical directives.
The ideal candidate will have a Master's Degree in Nursing, current certificate of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario as an RN (EC) - Nurse Practitioner-Primary Health Care (PHCNP). The candidate should have a minimum of 2-3 years of previous experience with assessment and treatment in a child and adolescent mental health; addictions setting. Urgent care and addictions experience preferred.
Responsibilities include:
- Assessment and treatment of child and adolescent patients with mental health issues
- Participation in staff education and research, and program evaluation
- Collaboration with interprofessional teams to provide comprehensive care
