Job Title: Occupational Therapy Assistant

Join our team at Ontario Grove Healthcare & Wellness Centre as an Occupational Therapy Assistant. As a key member of our rehabilitation team, you will play a vital role in providing direct patient care and support activities that contribute to the outstanding outcomes of our therapy department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide patient care under the direction of a registered occupational therapist, ensuring that treatment plans are implemented effectively and efficiently.
  • Complete documentation according to established procedures, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of patient progress and treatment plans.
  • Assist with support duties as assigned, contributing to the smooth operation of the therapy department.
  • Contribute to the professional development of self and others, staying up-to-date with the latest treatment knowledge and best practices in occupational therapy.
  • Enhance the interdisciplinary team through professional skills and knowledge, promoting a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Demonstrate safe working practices, identifying and correcting safety hazards and maintaining a safe and orderly work environment.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an AOTA-approved Occupational Therapist Assistant program.
  • Associate Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited OTA program.
  • Experience in geriatric rehabilitation preferred, with experience in adult neurological, cardiac, and general rehabilitation also desirable.
  • Ability to work with all types and levels of patients, with good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Physical requirements include the ability to lift and transfer patients to and from all surfaces, with a minimum of 10 times per day, and to perform CPR if required.
