The Vitalité Health Network is seeking a skilled Nurse Specialist to join our Forensic Psychiatry team. As a Clinical Resource Nurse, you will play a critical role in the coordination, development, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care delivery to a psychiatric clientele.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in the development and implementation of nursing care plans to ensure therapeutically competent, ethical, and safe care.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care to patients with complex psychiatric needs.
- Provide education and training to patients, families, and healthcare staff on mental health topics.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of policies and procedures related to psychiatric nursing care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
- Registration with the Nurses Association of New Brunswick.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
- Three years' experience in psychiatric nursing care.
- Certificate in psychiatric nursing/mental health (CNA) would be an asset.
- Current BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) certificate.
- Good knowledge of computer applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Training in non-violent crisis intervention or commitment to take such training within set timelines.
- Prevention and Management of Suicidal Behaviours in a Psychiatric Hospital Setting or commitment to take such training within set timelines.
- Ability to manage stressful situations and set priorities.
- Proven ability to solve problems, make decisions, and resolve conflicts.
- Proven leadership skills.
- Initiative and sound judgment.
- Ability to teach and transmit knowledge to others.
- Individual or group facilitation skills.
- Ability to act as a change agent.
- Ability to work independently and as a team member.
- Physical ability to perform assigned duties.
- Good previous work history (performance and attendance).
- Adherence to professional ethics principles, the Network management philosophy, and organizational values.
- Compliance with the rules of confidentiality established by the Vitalité Health Network.
