Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Occupational Health and Safety Specialist to join our team on a seasonal basis. As a Preventionist, you will play a critical role in supporting managers and workers in the workplace to identify, correct, and control environmental risks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct workplace inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and risks.
  • Develop and implement corrective measures to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with OHS regulations.
  • Coach and support supervisors in incident/accident investigations and the implementation of corrective measures.
  • Communicate OHS information and statistics to key stakeholders.
  • Participate in health and safety committee meetings and contribute to the development of OHS policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Occupational health and safety certificate or technique.
  • 3 to 5 years' experience in a similar position.
  • Bilingualism in French and English (essential).
  • Ability to work in a context of continuous improvement and change.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and persuasion skills.

Physical/Cognitive Requirements

The successful candidate will be able to sit, walk, and stand for up to 10 hours per day and will possess visual acuity, including close, distance, and color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
