We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse to join our care team at Nicola Lodge Care Community.
About the Role:As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality care to our residents. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Providing nursing care in accordance with established policies, physician's orders, and resident plans of care.
- Ensuring the safekeeping and control of medications and narcotics.
- Creating a comfortable and safe environment that promotes resident dignity, autonomy, and independence.
- Optimizing resident functional ability and seeking direction from RNs when necessary.
- Reporting changes in resident status and taking appropriate action.
- Fostering a collaborative team environment and providing guidance to support workers.
- Liaising with medical team members and participating in in-service programs.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Diploma in Practical Nursing.
- Current registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the College of Nurses BC.
- Successful annual completion of RAI MDS certification.
- Current First Aid with CPR.
- Pass a Vulnerable Sector Check (Ontario applicants) or Criminal Records Check (BC applicants).
Long-term care experience is an asset.
