Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide nursing care in accordance with established policies, physician's orders, and resident plans of care.
  • Utilize sound nursing practice principles to deliver excellent nursing and personal care.
  • Ensure the safekeeping and control of medications and narcotics.
  • Create a comfortable and safe environment that promotes resident autonomy and dignity.
  • Optimize resident potential to achieve maximum functional ability.
  • Seek direction from the RN when resident needs exceed experience or scope of practice.
  • Exercise sound nursing judgment by reporting changes in resident status and taking appropriate action.
  • Foster a collaborative atmosphere that promotes effective care delivery.
  • Liaise with medical team members to ensure effective clinical care.
  • Continuously assess and improve nursing practice and learning needs.
Requirements:
  • Diploma in Practical Nursing.
  • Current registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the College of Nurses BC.
  • Successful annual completion of RAI MDS certification.
  • Current First Aid with CPR.
  • Vulnerable Sector Check (applicable to Ontario applicants).
  • Criminal Records Check (applicable to British Columbia applicants).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Long Term Care Experience.

Leveling rate of pay $32.84 - $41.35 per hour until such time that wage leveling ends, then the pay rate will reflect the collective agreement pay rates starting rate.
