Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to join our team as a Data-Driven Business Improvement Lead in the Enforcement Division. If you are passionate about using data to drive business decisions and have a strong analytical mindset, we encourage you to apply.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Manager of Business Support for Enforcement to maintain, support, and improve work management systems for the Enforcement Division, which includes Animal Services, Parking Enforcement, Mobile Licensing, and Compliance & Licensing.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead business improvement projects, leveraging data to drive decision-making and process improvements.
  • Connect the dots between data and business outcomes, identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies to address them.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure their business needs are met, including leading and coordinating application testing, communications, and data-driven advocacy for process improvements.
  • Design, develop, and deploy standardized and ad-hoc reports to complete information audits, identify gaps, and present findings that provide insight into remedial steps for the Enforcement team.
  • Support evidence-based decision-making by analyzing business needs and supporting data to highlight process issues.
  • Develop, deploy, and create ad-hoc reports with varying degrees of complexity using Crystal Reports, Tableau, Lumira, Excel, SSDS, SQL developer, and INFOR.
  • Leverage data to identify opportunities to improve regulatory frameworks and enhance decision-making processes.
  • Assist with the deployment of new hardware and software releases to the Enforcement Division.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with business partners and clients to foster an open, trusting environment by sharing information in a timely manner and expressing ideas, thoughts, and information for success of the projects.
  • Provide ongoing support and training to staff through documented materials, working teams, and other communication challenges; Develop and deliver Staff technical training.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Criminology, Criminal Justice, Public Policy, or equivalent is required.
  • Project Management certification and/or LEAN certification is an asset.
  • Previous working experience with case management systems and conducting data analysis is required.
  • Required technical skills include previous experience with: Data Mining, Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio), Advanced ability to run reports and create dashboards using raw data.
  • Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate to a wide variety of audiences using different mediums are required.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work with vague direction under tight timelines is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to self-motivate and drive projects through to completion in a collaborative team environment while ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to undertake cross-jurisdictional scans, support Business Analysts in report writing, and undertaking research and analysis using qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Experience in conducting surveys, community engagement, presentations to the public is an asset.
