Karma Food Co is seeking a seasoned leader to take on the role of Executive Director. This volunteer position offers a unique opportunity to lead a dynamic organization and drive strategic growth.

The Role:

This is a key leadership position that requires strong organizational and planning skills. As Executive Director, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the organization, drive annual strategic planning, and evaluate growth opportunities. You will also act as custodian of financial assets, review financial statements, and ensure rigorous governance and controls are in place.

Your Responsibilities:

  1. Oversight of daily operations, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  2. Development and implementation of annual strategic plans, setting targets and work plans for committees.
  3. Evaluation of growth opportunities to enhance organizational impact.
  4. Management of financial assets, reviewing financial statements, and liaising with the treasurer and finance committee.
  5. Ensuring effective governance and controls are in place for funding decisions.
  6. Creation of an annual roadmap, including key dates, board meetings, and executive committee meetings.
  7. Fostering a sense of community and high-energy culture by building relationships with volunteers and spearheading engagement activities.
  8. Championing Karma Food Co in the community, enhancing and sustaining the brand to support fundraising, recruitment, and educator relations.

Your Qualifications:

  • Exceptional leadership skills, with experience leading volunteer teams preferred.
  • Ability to manage down (lead the team) and up (leverage the Board).
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Ability to work independently and resourcefully.
  • Basic financial acumen, with some experience interpreting financial statements.
  • Strategic thinking capabilities to build on Karma Food Co's operational position and scale impact across geographies, communities, and schools.
  • Desire to build your personal network and brand in a high-profile role working with community leaders.

Estimated Salary: $120,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. We offer a competitive package, including benefits and opportunities for professional growth.
