CIBCs Strategic Operations Director role plays a pivotal part in driving the realization of strategic plans within our Private Wealth Management division. This leadership position oversees the effective management of business operations, ensuring day-to-day activities are optimized and major transformational projects are executed successfully from an operational perspective.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the execution of business initiatives and major transformational projects from an operational standpoint for CIBC Private Banking, CPIC, and CIBC Trust.
  • Provide counsel to senior leaders on matters related to new and ongoing operational projects, ensuring alignment with corporate goals and objectives.
  • Maintain responsibility for supporting projects post-implementation, addressing problem resolution, and facilitating enhancements.
  • Contribute thought leadership in critical areas through active participation in CIBC Private Wealth and Wood Gundy leadership teams.
  • Possess the ability to act as proxy for senior leaders on matters of risk, operations, sales leadership, and compensation.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • A strong understanding of business acumen, coupled with 10 years of experience in the wealth management industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage the implementation of transformational change and increase employee motivation during periods of transition.
  • Proven leadership and relationship management skills.
  • Take ownership of decisions and actions, maintaining open communication with key executives and stakeholders regarding critical issues.
