Job Summary

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking an experienced Analyst/Administrative Assistant to join the Regional Medical Imaging Team.

This role provides analytical support to senior leadership, including data analysis, statistical reporting, and benchmarking activities.

The successful candidate will also provide confidential administrative and secretarial assistance, maintain leadership appointment calendars, and coordinate meetings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide analytical support to senior leadership, including data analysis, statistical reporting, and benchmarking activities.
  • Provide confidential administrative and secretarial assistance, including maintaining leadership appointment calendars and coordinating meetings.
  • Maintain the flow of information through the department, screen, triage, and act upon requests and inquiries.
  • Work independently and interface with other Executive Directors, Directors, Managers, and staff at all levels of the organization.
  • Effectively partner with other VCH departments, such as the Data and Analytics team, and liaise with external agencies to coordinate the flow of information.

Qualifications

  • Diploma in a related program.
  • Three to four (3-4) years' recent, related experience in a complex health care environment with progressively more responsible secretarial and administrative positions supporting senior level management.
  • Advanced computer skills in spreadsheet, database, graphics, and word processing programs, including Microsoft Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word, and Visio.

Knowledge and Abilities

  • Employs expertise in the use of computer software and applications to create a variety of analytical reports, documents, and presentations, and to maintain databases.
  • Applies acquired skills and knowledge to efficiently and independently resolve administrative issues/problems.
  • Effectively utilizes both verbal and written communication skills when providing advice or information or seeking/acquiring information.
  • Develops and maintains strong relationships with key internal and external partners to promote and enhance services provided with sensitivity to diversity and indigenous lens.
  • Practices the recognition, inclusion, and support of all types and aspects of diversity at all stages of engagement, with an understanding of the issues faced by people from equity-deserving groups.
  • Optimizes departmental effectiveness and contributes to organizational success by applying excellent time management skills to prioritize and complete assignments and schedule activities.
  • Practices diligence and care when maintaining, monitoring, calculating, and summarizing data, records, and budget information.
