We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Nova Scotia Health. As a key member of our multidisciplinary healthcare team, you will be responsible for the initiation and management of invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation, as well as acting as an expert in advanced airway management.
As a Respiratory Therapist, you will deliver and manage the administration of oxygen and other compressed gases, aerosolized medications, and high humidity therapies. You will also perform and interpret related pulmonary diagnostic testing, working closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities may also include working in the Pulmonary Function Testing Lab, Asthma Clinic, COPD Clinic, and Sleep Lab, as well as providing patient or staff education sessions.
About YouWe are looking for a candidate with a graduate degree from a recognized School of Respiratory Therapy, who is registered with the Nova Scotia College of Respiratory Therapists and holds certification in CPR at NRP and ACLS levels.
You should possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and be able to work effectively in a team environment. Adaptability and flexibility are essential, as you will be required to adjust to the changing needs of the service and the program/facility.
Competencies in other languages, particularly French, are an asset. Please ensure your resume is up to date and includes all relevant education, experience, training, and certifications.
Hours and CompensationThis is a permanent part-time position, working 22.5 hours bi-weekly. The hourly rate is $40.66.
