About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and physically fit individual to join our team as a Construction Helper at S & S Gill Homes and Construction Inc.

Key Responsibilities
  • Loading and Unloading: Assist in loading and unloading construction materials from vehicles and equipment.
  • Site Setup and Dismantling: Help set up and dismantle scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring, and barricades as required.
  • Mixing and Spreading Materials: Assist in mixing and spreading materials such as concrete and asphalt.
  • Demolition and Debris Removal: Participate in demolishing buildings and removing rubble and debris from construction sites.
  • Cleanliness and Safety: Maintain a clean and safe work environment by cleaning up chemical spills and other contaminants.
  • Machine Operation: Tend or feed machines or equipment used in construction.
  • Traffic Control: Direct traffic at or near construction sites as needed.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field.
  • Work Environment: Willing to work outdoors in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Physical Demands: Physically demanding with manual dexterity and ability to handle heavy loads.
  • Travel: Willing to travel regularly for work.
Working Conditions
  • Work Hours: 40 hours per week.
  • Language: English.
  • Work Term: Permanent.
