Job Title: Technical Team Lead

Iron Systems is a leading provider of custom-built computing infrastructure platforms. We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Team Lead to join our team.

Job Summary

The Technical Team Lead will be responsible for leading a team of developers in modifying existing code or creating new programs in accordance with approved design specifications. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of experience in web programming and will be able to design and implement web applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of developers in modifying existing code or creating new programs
  • Develop and document technical designs for applications
  • Provide oversight on building software releases from multiple development project streams
  • Troubleshoot and perform root cause analysis to solve problems in an integrated environment
  • Provide effort estimates/timelines for complex new development projects and application upgrades
  • Ensure APIs and Web Services are written with clear, consistent, simple to use interfaces
  • Review and monitor the development of applications for multiple tier deployment environments
  • Follow a continuous delivery pipeline with GIT source control management and Jenkins automation server
  • Participate in the implementation and integration with Government Standard Enterprise Integration Platform
  • Participate in the development of a MyPEI using multiple levels of authentication to deliver permissible digital services
Qualifications
  • Highly self-motivated and directed with experience in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience directly related to web programming
  • Experience designing and/or implementing web applications
  • Demonstrated experience in writing code that was well-designed, tested, and put into a production environment
  • Developing or supporting web applications
  • Some existing and emerging software development tools, frameworks, and languages
  • Web technologies, protocols, and tools
  • Working with databases and data modeling
  • Knowledge of operating systems and platforms, security, and networking
  • Containerization of microservices using Docker and managing the containers using Kubernetes
  • Open source frameworks to create microservices
  • Automation servers, CI using software such as Jenkins and Git
Must Have Experience
  • APIs

  • CSS, SASS, SCSS, LESS
  • Javascript
  • Java/Springboot
  • Relational databases such as MySQL
  • OS such as Ubuntu
Desirable Experience
  • Delivering multiple complex simultaneous system development projects from design through to release
  • Evaluating risks and predicting potential problems
  • Understanding and contributing to the technical solution from design through to code level
  • Working closely with other team members to produce accurate delivery estimates and manage the transition from analysis through to design and delivery
  • Supervising and mentoring development team
  • Architecting solutions using APIs
  • Strong critical reasoning skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Experience working with government organizations, Jira/Azure, and managing its boards, Drupal Content Management System module development, Docker and Kubernetes container software, development of black boxes, Enterprise Integration Platforms, load testing, load balancing, performance test, automated testing, and Operating Systems will be considered an asset.
