Job Summary

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team as a COPD Outreach Team member at Vancouver General Hospital. As a Respiratory Therapy Educator, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality respiratory services to clients across the continuum of care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement plans of care in relation to client/family priorities, ensuring comprehensive knowledge of current respiratory therapy theory and practice.
  • Deliver educational programs for clients, healthcare professionals, and students, demonstrating ability to assess client responses to care and respond appropriately.
  • Collaborate with various practitioners, physicians, and healthcare staff to promote respiratory health and provide expertise/support regarding equipment, supplies, and education.
  • Work independently and in collaboration with others to establish workload priorities and manage projects and demands in a dynamic environment.
Qualifications
  • Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy Program.
  • Successful completion of the Health Professionals Testing Canada Credentialing Exam.
  • Eligible for membership with the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists and BC Society of Respiratory Therapists.
  • Certified Respiratory Educator.
  • Three years' recent, related experience in COPD assessment, including training and practice in clinical respiratory therapy and staff education/training.
