Job Title: Cloud Product Management Director

Scotiabank is seeking a highly skilled Cloud Product Management Director to lead our Cloud and Platform Engineering team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for defining the strategic direction for Cloud and Platform Engineering, focusing on simplifying operations and enhancing capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and inspire the Technical Product Management team to empower our developers and drive innovation.
  • Define the multi-year vision, strategy, and cross-platform roadmap for the Cloud Platform within Cloud and Platform Engineering.
  • Manage and mentor Senior Technical Product Managers and Technical Product Managers, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
  • Liaison with supporting teams across Scotiabank that Technology Product Managers work with frequently.
  • Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Create an environment in which their team pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles.
  • Build a high-performance environment and implement a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in product management, with at least 5 years focusing on cloud technologies and platforms.
  • Proven track record of leading and delivering complex, enterprise-scale cloud and platform engineering initiatives.
  • Deep understanding of cloud computing concepts, architectures, and services.
  • Strong knowledge of modern software development methodologies, DevOps practices, and infrastructure as code principles.
  • Experience with containerization technologies and serverless computing.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor high-performing product management teams.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Certifications in relevant cloud platforms are a plus.
  • Strong understanding of security best practices and compliance requirements in cloud environments.
