About the Role

Nexus Systems Group Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Cybersecurity Risk Analyst to join our team. As a Cybersecurity Risk Analyst, you will play a critical role in identifying and mitigating potential security risks to our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Conduct Threat Risk Assessments: Conduct thorough threat risk assessments on technology assets, including applications, to identify potential security vulnerabilities and provide recommendations for mitigation.
  2. Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with stakeholders, including application owners and business lines, to ensure risk remediation or acceptance is addressed.
  3. Review Security Controls: Review and evaluate security controls, including compensating and mitigating controls, to ensure they are effective in mitigating potential security risks.
  4. Communicate Findings: Clearly and intelligently communicate findings to stakeholders, including senior leadership and third-party vendors.
  5. Prepare Reports: Prepare and report results to stakeholders and management, including risk assessments and mitigation recommendations.
Requirements
  1. IT Security Background: IT Security Analyst or related cybersecurity background (2+ years of experience, but will consider recent university graduates with a degree in Cyber or Information Security).
  2. Cyber Risk Assessment Experience: Recent experience working directly on Cyber Risk Assessments (2+ years, or 1 recent project).
  3. Security Controls Knowledge: Understanding and experience with security controls/mechanisms and risk assessment techniques pertaining to complex data, application, infrastructure, and networking environments.
  4. MS Office Proficiency: Proficiency in MS Office with extended knowledge in MS Excel (3+ years).
Preferred Qualifications
  1. CISA or CISSP Certification: CISA or CISSP certification.
  2. Financial Industry Experience: Recent relevant Financial Industry Experience.
  3. Financial Regulations Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of Financial regulations and regulatory requirements (NYDFS, FIECC, Federal Reserve, Treasury, CFTC, etc.).
  4. Vulnerability Management Tools: Experience with vulnerability management tools such as Tripwire or Tenable.
Soft Skills
  1. Excellent Communication Skills: Excellent grammar and communications skills to coordinate with senior leadership (Director, VP level and up), as well as C-Suite of some of the third-party vendors.
  2. Presenting Risk Assessments: Comfortable putting together and presenting risk assessments to a wide range of individuals.
  3. Curious and Adaptable: Natural curiosity and ability to assess each situation separately.
  4. Strong Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills.
  5. Ability to Work Under Pressure: Ability to work well under pressure while demonstrating strong professionalism.
Education

Bachelors/Masters degree in cyber security, computer science, or related IT field.
