Job Description

**About the Role**

We are seeking a highly skilled Cybersecurity Specialist to join our team in Canada. As a Cybersecurity Specialist, you will play a critical role in designing solutions, performing penetration tests, and ensuring the overall security of our digital infrastructure.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Assess risks and utilize technologies to prevent cyber-attacks
  • Learn cybersecurity tools and software, such as Python, SQL, Wireshark, and Hyper-V
  • Gain valuable work experience with a co-op work placement
  • Prepare for the Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) exam from EC-Council
  • Participate in a 240-hour co-op work placement in a suitable business environment

**Program Highlights**

  • **Computer Networks**: Focus on advanced computer communication topics, including monitoring and analyzing network traffic, operating systems, and data archives management and development
  • **Programming Languages for Cybersecurity**: Learn web technologies, basic HTML development, and basic programming with Python
  • **Concepts and Practical Implication of Encryption**: Explore the technology of cryptography, available techniques, limitations, and common problems
  • **Information Security in the Cyber World**: Familiarize yourself with scanning networks, sites, and computers for vulnerabilities and attacks
  • **Penetration Testing**: Develop basic skills to conduct and build penetration testing infrastructure
  • **Hackathon**: Learn tactics for managing and synchronizing a multiplayer cyber event

**About the Program**

This one-year, co-op program is ideal for those looking to become familiar with all aspects of cybersecurity, such as blockchain, big data, and the IoT (Internet of Things). Upon successful completion of the program, you can enter the thriving cybersecurity market in Canada in one of the following roles:

  • Informatics Security Analyst
  • Systems Security Analyst
  • IT Analyst
  • Information Technology (IT) security specialist
  • Cybersecurity Specialist
