At North York General Hospital, we are committed to providing a safe and healthy work environment for our employees. We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Health and Wellness Specialist to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Occupational Health and Safety programs to prevent employee illness and disability.
  • Provide education and training on musculoskeletal disorder prevention strategies for staff.
  • Manage and coordinate MSD, Safety, and other relevant database and training programs.
  • Perform work site evaluations, ergonomic assessments, and physical demand analyses.
  • Develop and update Musculoskeletal Injury Prevention programs for all areas of the hospital.
  • Collaborate with Ability Management Specialists and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
  • Assist in incident investigations and planning of Wellness initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Masters or Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy/Occupational Therapy or related profession.
  • Member of the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario, Member of the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario or related professional body.
  • Applied knowledge of MSD prevention and ergonomics.
  • Good organizational skills, including superior time management skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain good interpersonal relationships with staff, managers, and unions.
