About the Role

This exciting opportunity as a Rehab and Wellness Specialist will have you contributing to the shared responsibility of ensuring health and safety policies are followed to provide a healthy environment for patients, staff, physicians, volunteers, and families. Your expertise will be invaluable in managing and coordinating MSD, Safety, and other relevant database and training programs.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • You will provide education and training regarding musculoskeletal disorder prevention strategies for staff.
  • Manage and coordinate MSD, Safety, and other relevant database and training programs.
  • Perform work site evaluations, ergonomic assessments, and physical demand analyses, making recommendations to appropriate personnel for modifications to decrease the risk of injury.
  • Provide client lifting and transfer education for staff involved in patient care and/or transportation.
  • Develop and update Musculoskeletal Injury Prevention programs for all areas of the hospital.
  • Assist in the RTW planning process, documenting and communicating as required.
  • Collaborate with Ability Management Specialists and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
  • Schedule and participate in meetings.
  • Assist in incident investigations in collaboration with the Safety Specialist.
  • Plan Wellness initiatives to improve staff physical and psychological health.
About You

We are seeking an experienced professional with a strong background in Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy, who has applied knowledge of MSD prevention and ergonomics. You must possess excellent organizational skills, including superior time management skills, and the ability to develop and maintain good interpersonal relationships with staff, managers, and unions. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential, as well as the ability to meet and prioritize deadlines and work under pressure.
