Job Overview

This role offers an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Heavy Equipment Inspector and Driver. You will be responsible for ensuring that our used vehicle inventory is in top condition, exercising vehicles to guarantee they are roadworthy, and conducting inspections to identify any issues that need attention.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary range for this position is $23-24 per hour. Responsibilities
  • Exercise trucks and tractors to ensure they are in good working condition and ready for sale.
  • Guarantee that customer units are delivered or transported from the yard without any issues.
  • Transport equipment around the yard to maintain an organized and presentable space.
  • Perform light mechanical work, such as jump-starts, battery installation, and fluid management, while troubleshooting mechanical issues.
  • Coordinate with local Ryder shops or third-party service providers for repairs.
  • Ensure equipment is clean and presentable.
  • Submit weekly exercise data via Teams.
Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • One year or more of mechanical and/or customer service experience is necessary.
  • A Class DZ driver's license is mandatory.
  • You should have advanced knowledge of truck and trailer equipment.
  • You must be able to work in an outdoor environment and be comfortable with exposure to elements.
  • Customer focus and support are essential skills for this role.
  • You should possess solid written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team is required.
  • You should be organized and capable of multitasking.
  • Familiarity with light computer skills, specifically using a tablet for checking and inspecting units, is desirable.
