About the Position

As a Licensed Mechanic with First Student, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing school buses to ensure vehicle readiness and safety. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with preventive maintenance (PMs), safety inspections, and annual MTO maintenance inspections.
  • Diagnosing and performing all phases of vehicle and equipment repair, including brakes, suspensions, drivetrains, and transmissions.
  • Ensuring work orders are completed accurately.
  • Providing mobile emergency services when needed.

You will be working closely with our team to ensure that our fleet is always in top condition, providing a safe and reliable service for our customers.

Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary of $40.85 per hour, based on experience and qualifications. In addition, you will receive an extra $0.25 per hour for each ASE certification you hold or obtain. We also provide company-paid ASE testing and training materials.

Our benefits package includes medical, dental, vision, and RRSP coverage, as well as paid holidays and vacation time. You will also receive annual allowances for boots and prescription safety glasses.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A valid driver's license.
  • An S and/or T license.
  • A mechanics tool set.
  • A willingness to participate in ASE certification programs, with training, testing, and bonuses provided.
