Community Director

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Community Director to join our team at VIVA Retirement Communities. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for the overall management of our community, including the supervision of department managers and the development of strategies to improve the resident experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the community, ensuring a high level of engagement and team morale.
  • Monitor the financial performance of the community against the annual budget, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Develop and implement local and company-wide marketing campaigns, strategies, and programs to attract new residents and retain existing ones.
  • Work closely with Home Office to develop local quarterly and annual sales strategies, ensuring that agreed-upon plans are implemented and results are achieved.
  • Identify and engage in initiatives that build strong ties between residents, their families, and the local community.
  • Monitor the performance of all team members, using a variety of methodologies to ensure performance and behavior align with VIVA's culture, performance, and job expectations.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a senior leadership role within the assisted living or retirement living or health-care industry.
  • Graduate of a post-secondary institution in a relevant field.
  • Practical knowledge of human resources, financial management, project management, and facility operations.
  • Operational experience in setting priorities, developing work schedules, monitoring progress, and reporting on details of the overall operation of the facility.
  • Strong computer skills for job-related functions, including use of Excel, Word, and various job-related software programs.
  • The ability to work in a busy environment with frequent interruptions, as well as the ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to manage stress and manage the stress of others.
