Senior Community Leader

As a Community Director with VIVA Retirement Communities, you will be responsible for the overall management of our Community, including the supervision of six department managers. Your key accountabilities will include community and financial management, continuous improvement of the Community Member experience, and ongoing Team Member development and experience.

Key responsibilities include:
- Managing the day-to-day operations of the Community, providing leadership and guidance to department managers, and ensuring high engagement and team morale.
- Aligning the Community with VIVA's values and mission.
- Monitoring the financial performance of the Community against the annual budget and implementing corrective actions as required.
- Identifying and resolving issues encountered in the day-to-day operations of the Community.
- Liaising with the VP of Marketing to establish and implement local and company-wide marketing campaigns, strategies, and programs.
- Working closely with Home Office to develop local quarterly and annual sales strategies and ensure that agreed-upon plans are implemented and measured.
- Identifying and engaging in initiatives that build strong ties between Community Members, their families, and the local community.
- Working with department managers to determine staffing requirements and ensure scheduling aligns with the operating budget.
- Monitoring the performance of all Team Members and using various methodologies to ensure performance and behavior align with VVA's culture, performance, and job expectations.
- Ensuring all Team Members are effectively oriented to the Community and VVA's culture.
- Actively participating in all safety-related protocols to maintain a safe working and living environment.
Requirements include:
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in a senior leadership role within the assisted living or retirement living or health-care industry.
- A graduate of a post-secondary institution in a relevant field.
- Practical knowledge of human resources, financial management, project management, and facility operations.
- Operational experience in setting priorities, developing work schedules, monitoring progress, and reporting on details of the overall operation of the facility.
- Strong computer skills for job-related functions, including use of Excel, Word, and various job-related software programs.
- The ability to work in a busy environment with frequent interruptions and to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- The ability to manage stress and manage the stress of others.
