Job Summary:
Interior Health Authority is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our Sexual Assault Forensic Examination (SAFE) Team as a TeleSAFE Consultant. This is a dynamic and challenging role that requires strong clinical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide consultation, support, and guidance to onsite staff on Sexual Assault Forensic Examination procedures and protocols.
- Support patients and onsite clinicians via phone and/or video to conduct virtual SAFE examinations.
- Communicate with onsite staff prior to, during, and after examinations to ensure smooth and efficient care.
- Provide care through a trauma and violence-informed lens, using evidence-informed practice.
- Ensure patients and their support systems are supported in navigating the healthcare system and accessing community resources.
Requirements:
- Registered Nurse (RN) with current registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- Experience in Sexual Assault Forensic Examination and trauma-informed care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of an interprofessional team.
- Strong clinical expertise and knowledge of SAFE procedures and protocols.
