Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Actuarial Technical Specialist to join our team at Definity. As a key member of our Corporate Actuarial department, you will be responsible for Financial Condition Testing (FCT) and other capital modeling initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform FCT process, including stress scenario development, model enhancements, and result interpretation.
  • Assist in setting capital targets for the enterprise.
  • Support Risk Management initiatives, including catastrophe modeling, aggregation/concentration monitoring, and climate change impact assessment.
  • Collaborate with Actuarial teams and external stakeholders to solve complex problems and provide recommendations.
  • Identify process efficiencies and recommend changes.
  • Support leadership in coaching and counseling junior team members.
Requirements
  • University degree in Actuarial Sciences, Mathematics, or Statistics.
  • Completed a minimum of 5 exams of the Casualty Actuarial Society or equivalent credentials.
  • At least 5 years of full-time actuarial experience in the insurance industry.
  • Knowledge of Capital modeling, FCT, and IFRS 17 is an asset.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Results-driven mindset with a focus on driving business performance.
  • Proficiency in actuarial software and programming languages.
  • Strong communication and presentation abilities.
