About the Role
We are seeking an Environmental Sustainability Coordinator to join our team at Inuvialuit Regional Corporation. This is a key position that plays a crucial role in shaping the environmental and policy landscape of the ISR.
Job Summary
The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating programs, policies, and projects to enhance the management and sustainability of Inuvialuit lands. This includes developing and analyzing program designs, drafting new policies, and evaluating environmental impacts.
Main Responsibilities
- Evaluate existing programs, policies, and projects to ensure they align with the corporation's goals and objectives.
- Develop and analyze program designs to improve the management and sustainability of Inuvialuit lands.
- Draft new policies and guidelines to support sustainable land use practices.
- Evaluate environmental impacts of various activities and make recommendations for improvement.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to advance sustainable land management practices.
Qualifications and Experience
- A Master's degree in Environmental Management, Policy, or a related field (preferred); or a minimum of two years of related experience in environmental management or policy, in a cross-cultural or northern setting.
- Strong understanding of environmental legislation, regulations, and policies, particularly in the ISR and Northwest Territories.
- Proficiency in database management systems such as Microsoft Access.
- Ability to analyze business and government documents, including budgets, cost ledgers, and program evaluations.
- Proven ability to present complex information effectively to various audiences, including non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills and the capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience in mentoring and training programs, particularly in cross-cultural settings.
- Excellent analytical, writing, and reporting skills.

- An estimated salary range of $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience.
