Job Description

Beaver Transportation Inc. is seeking a skilled Transportation Operations Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of our dispatchers and ensuring the smooth operation of our transportation services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement plans to prioritize tasks and optimize operational logistics
  • Organize and assign tasks to dispatchers to ensure timely completion of work
  • Oversee the operational logistics of the organization, including inventory management and maintenance
  • Co-ordinate activities with other work units or departments to ensure seamless communication and collaboration
  • Prepare and submit reports to management on operational performance and productivity
  • Ensure the smooth operation of computer equipment and machinery, and arrange for maintenance and repair work as needed
  • Resolve work problems, provide technical advice, and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality
  • Recruit and hire staff, train workers in duties and policies, and conduct performance reviews
  • Co-ordinate, assign, and review work to ensure high-quality results
  • Requisition or order materials, equipment, and supplies as needed
  • Organize and maintain inventory to ensure efficient use of resources
Requirements
  • 5-10 years of experience in transportation operations or a related field
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office and other software applications
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
