Emergency Medicine Physician

Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre is seeking a skilled Emergency Medicine Physician to join their team. This newly renovated and expanded Level 2 emergency department provides 24/7 access to emergency services, offering a wide range of primary and secondary services through inpatient, outpatient, and community-based services and programs.
Responsibilities- Provide leadership in the resuscitation and stabilization of major trauma patients and critically ill patients.
- Assess and manage emergency medicine presentations from injury to unexpected and undifferentiated medical and surgical illness in all ages, including mental health emergencies.
- Full-time is defined as hours per annum, involving rotational shift work, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Part-time work is available and encouraged for those who also want to participate in the hospitalist program or family medicine practices.
- Current shifts are 4h or 8h in length, with coverage per day, with the option to combine shifts as desired.
- All applicants must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia.
- All family physicians must have membership with the College of Family Physicians of Canada.
- All specialists must be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
- Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association is required.
- Applicants must have current certification in ACLS, ATLS, and PALS, and Advanced Airway certifications are mandatory for those without current CCFP(EM) or FRCPC credentials.
- ED US training is strongly desirable and supported by the department.
