Physician Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant to join our team in the Emergency Department at Nova Scotia Health and IWK Health. As a Physician Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities- Obtain comprehensive health histories and conduct thorough physical assessments to inform diagnosis and treatment plans.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement effective treatment plans.
- Provide high-quality patient care, including ordering diagnostic tests, interpreting results, and implementing treatment plans.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program in Canada or the United States.
- Certification through the Physician Assistant's Certification Council (PACC) or National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia.
- Membership with the Canadian Association of Physician Assistants.
- Medical Liability Insurance required.
- Recent experience in emergency medicine, with a strong understanding of emergency department operations and protocols.
