Job Summary

The Senior Electrical Design Engineer will be a key member of our professional services team, responsible for providing electrical engineering and design expertise to assigned project deliverables. This role will work on electrical systems designs for various projects within a versatile team, collaborating with CAD department to develop and deliver electrical designs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple concurrent electrical design projects, overseeing scope, deliverables, CAD staff deliverables, and project budgets.
  • Conduct research and provide design, operation, and performance of building electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, controls, emergency power, life-safety systems, and renewable power generation and storage.
  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of engineers, architects, facility management, and technicians to develop detailed designs for various architectural, mechanical, and electrical projects.
  • Support the installation of electric vehicle charging infrastructure and tenant fit-up and mechanical equipment upgrades.
  • Provide equipment selections, cost and timing estimates, reports, design specifications, and drawings for building electrical systems.

Requirements

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in electrical design/engineering.
  • Familiarity with Electrical Codes and Provincial Building Codes.
  • Experience in engineering consulting.
  • Strong understanding of the engineering environment in the electrical sector.
  • Highly meticulous nature, strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both official languages.
  • Proficient with MS Office suite.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with clients, staff, and other employees.

Licenses and/or Professional Accreditation

  • Must hold a degree in electrical engineering from an accredited university.
  • Ontario Professional Engineer (PEO) required.
  • Engineering license in other provinces would be an asset.
