**Job Summary**

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data DevOps Engineer to join our team at Discovery Village at the West End – IL. As a key member of our infrastructure team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our cloud-based infrastructure that powers our business operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement scalable and secure cloud-based infrastructure using automation tools and techniques such as infrastructure as code, configuration as code, serverless, and containerization.
  • Develop and maintain production environments by identifying and applying automation, tools, and techniques to ensure high availability and performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure security best practices are integrated into system designs and configuration.
  • Assist in evaluating, planning, configuration, and implementation of new software services to support business growth.
  • Develop custom tools and automation through programming and scripting to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Support software development by maintaining and scaling our continuous integration and continuous delivery environment as needed.
  • Apply data lifecycle management to sensitive data through backups, permissions management, and auditing to ensure data integrity and compliance.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation, triaging and escalating alerts, and assisting in disaster recovery as necessary for services the team is responsible for.
  • Member of an Agile team providing code reviews, velocity estimation, planning input, and participating in other Agile methodology workflows.
  • Work and communicate effectively with product owners, development teams, and cloud and delivery teams to ensure seamless collaboration.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation to ensure knowledge sharing and transfer.
  • Perform other duties as required and completes all job functions as per departmental policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for setting technical direction for team responsibilities and cross-training other staff members on new technologies.
  • Ability to delegate tasks and mentor others to ensure team growth and development.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in one or more of these disciplines: Continuous integration tools and techniques, configuration management and deployment tools, systems administration or similar role focused on performance analysis, capacity planning, and forecasting.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience as a power user of various operating systems, including MacOS, Linux, and Shell scripting.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a current programming language, such as Python or Spark.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience using source control management tools, such as Git or Subversion.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience using issue tracking software, such as JIRA or Salesforce.
  • Experience developing enterprise-grade software with understanding of the software development life cycle.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code techniques, such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Experience in enterprise security and hardening best practices.
  • Experience building and maintaining cloud-native services, such as Amazon Web Services.
  • Experience working with monitoring and logging tools, such as LogicMonitor or Sumologic.
  • Experience with containerization concepts and Kubernetes.
  • Experience working with structured databases, such as MySQL or DynamoDB.

Education and Certifications:

  • 4-year / bachelor's degree (Preferred).
  • A combination of relevant experience and education may be considered.
  • Certificates commonly held by those in the role include one or more of: LPIC-1, LPIC-2, LPIC-3, RHCE (RedHat Certified Engineer), AWS Solutions Architect Associate, AWS Certified Developer Associate, AWS Certified SysOps Associate.
