About the Role:
This is a full-time opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents and their families. As a Senior Social Services Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the coordination of social services, including counseling, case management, and support groups. You will work closely with the Activation Supervisor to develop and implement programs that promote resident well-being and engagement.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for social services department
- Conduct psychosocial assessments and provide counseling services to residents
- Coordinate admissions and discharges, and manage waiting lists
- Oversee the coordination of Resident Council and Family Council
- Collaborate with community agencies to foster close relations between the home and the greater Chinese Community in Ontario
- Supervise and train volunteers, and maintain liaison between the home and the community
- Chair Interdisciplinary Committee meetings and take follow-up actions as appropriate
- Organize short-stay programs, pre & post admission, co-ordination of respite, supportive, emergency services
- Support the Activation Supervisor to plan programs, parties, outings, activities, etc. with the residents/representative in accordance with the objectives of the Social Services Department
About You:
We are looking for a qualified professional with a degree in social work, preferably MSW, and current membership of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) in good standing. You should have knowledge of gerontology, experience on Long-Term Care setting preferred. Excellent interpersonal communication, organizational skills and human skills are essential. Demonstrated family, group and crisis intervention counseling skills, strong teamwork and consultation skills are also required.
What We Offer:
We offer a competitive salary range of $65,000 - $80,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision coverage, as well as a retirement savings plan. You will also have opportunities for professional development and growth within our organization.
