Estimator Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Estimator with strong Heavy Civil project exposure to join our team at Drake International.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will have experience producing estimates for complex and unique heavy civil competitive tenders. They will be responsible for reviewing proposal specifications and drawings to determine the scope of work and required contents of the estimate.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Produce estimates for a wide range of complex and unique heavy civil competitive tenders
  2. Review proposal specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate
  3. Calculate complete takeoff of scopes of work, including material quantity requirements from engineering drawings based on first principles estimating
  4. Assist in review of final estimate to ensure alignment with project schedule and cost goals

Requirements

  • At least 5+ years previous experience working in civil construction
  • A University Degree, College Diploma or certificate in Engineering or Construction Management. Or a combination of education and industry experience
  • Construction knowledge – overall understanding of construction processes, sequencing and planning concepts
  • A comprehensive understanding of the bid process cycle
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, outstanding time management, prioritization, multitasking, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment, where collaboration is the key to success
