We are seeking a skilled Purchasing Agent to join our team at Amico Corporation, a leading manufacturer of Medical Equipment. As a Purchasing Agent, you will be responsible for managing the procurement process, building relationships with suppliers, and ensuring the timely delivery of goods.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process requisitions and purchase orders
  • Initiate and follow up with RFQ and POs with suppliers
  • Expediting overdue orders and rush requests
  • Building relationships with suppliers
  • Review MRP (inventory) replenishment
  • Manage allocation of job-specific materials purchased in the event of production schedule date changes
  • Liaise with cross functional teams such as suppliers, production, shipping and customer service to ensure goods are available to meet production requirements on time
  • Negotiate with suppliers to purchase quality products at the best price possible
  • Handle NCRs with suppliers
  • Maintain up to date information on production schedule for cross functional teams to reference
  • Attend regular team meetings and participate in meetings with suppliers as needed

Requirements:
  • 2-3 years of purchasing experience preferable in a manufacturing background
  • Knowledge in medical air and vacuum systems an asset
  • Able to read simple manufacturing or technical drawings an asset
  • Highly organized, creative and self-motivated
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills
  • Able to work independently and in team environment
  • Spire experience an asset
  • Computer skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Negotiation skills
  • Working in fast paced environment
  • Able to multitask
  • Mandarin speaking is an asset
  • Formal college or university education
  • Follow company policies and procedures
