Job Title: Apiary Technician - Bee Yard Maintenance

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Apiary Technician to join our team at Poelman Apiaries Ltd. As an Apiary Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining the bee yard and beekeeping equipment, working with honey bees, and harvesting crops.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the bee yard and beekeeping equipment
  • Work with honey bees
  • Harvest crops
  • Perform general farm duties
  • Interact with bees based on your knowledge of their biology, behaviour, ecology, and caste system

Requirements:

  • Valid driver's licence
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Physically demanding work
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to handle heavy loads
  • Combination of sitting, standing, walking
  • Hand-eye co-ordination
  • Ability to distinguish between colours
