Apiary Technician

At Poelman Apiaries Ltd., we are seeking a skilled Apiary Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the bee yard and beekeeping equipment, working with honey bees, harvesting crops, and performing general farm duties.
The ideal candidate will have Apiary and honey harvesting experience with automated honey extractors, apiary management, and harvesting honey. They will also have a valid driver's licence and be able to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines. Our team player will have a strong understanding of bee biology, behaviour, ecology, and caste system, and be able to distinguish between colours.
We offer on-site housing options, a seasonal contract, and a 45 to 60 hour workweek in a rural area. The language of work is English.
