Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Clinical Aide to join our team at Medicentres. As a Clinical Aide, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional customer service to our patients and physicians, while executing on our organization's strategic objectives related to clinic operations and patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greet and register patients in a timely and efficient manner
  • Initiate forms, create billings, and collect payment for uninsured services
  • Escort patients to exam rooms and prepare them for physician consultations
  • Set up and assist with minor surgical procedures, pelvic examinations, and IUD insertions
  • Perform diagnostic testing as ordered by the physician, including urinalysis, simple blood glucose testing, and pregnancy testing
  • Perform COVID rapid antigen testing for symptomatic and asymptomatic patients
  • Perform a variety of care interventions and medical procedures as permitted by the physician, within the designated scope of practice
  • Aware of our organization's core purpose and core values, and perform to these Core Values on an ongoing basis
  • Accurately chart any medical procedures or interventions performed in the patient chart
  • Follow standards of cleanliness and safety
  • Schedule and notify patients of appointments
  • Scan patient documents as required
  • Open mail, receive faxes, and distribute them appropriately
  • Complete daily, weekly, and monthly chore lists
  • Understand physician profiles and execute on requests to properly support physicians
  • Actively participate in company initiatives
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • A medical degree from a school of medicine listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools
  • Successful completion of the MCCEE (Medical Council of Canada Evaluating Examination) or MCCQE 1/MCCQE2 (Medical Council of Canada Qualifying Examination)
  • Experience with Med Access software is preferred
  • Excellent communication, listening, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent clinical and customer service and organizational skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information in compliance with relevant provincial privacy legislation
  • Strong computer skills, including Excel
  • CPR - Health Care Provider BLS
Work Environment
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Ability to balance and manage workload tasks
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time
