About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Technologist to join our team at AVL Manufacturing Inc. in a permanent position.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Assist in preparing detailed design, drawings, and specifications for mechanical systems and components.
  • Design for Manufacturability: Assist in the design of moulds, tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures to ensure efficient production processes.
  • Testing and Analysis: Conduct mechanical tests and analyses of machines, components, and materials to ensure compliance with design specifications.
  • Computer-Aided Design (CAD): Utilize CAD software to create and modify designs, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design integrity.
  • Cost Estimation and Materials Management: Estimate costs and materials required for design projects, and ensure accurate tracking and reporting.
  • Engineering Documentation: Prepare and interpret engineering design, drawings, and specifications to ensure clarity and accuracy.
  • Contract and Tender Preparation: Assist in preparing contracts and tenders for design projects, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Education: College or CEGEP diploma in a relevant field, such as mechanical engineering or a related discipline.
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a related design or engineering role.
  • Skills and Knowledge: Proficiency in SolidWorks software, and a valid driver's license for occasional travel.
  • Work Environment: Fast-paced environment with a focus on attention to detail and client satisfaction.
  • Personal Qualities: Strong client focus, team player, and ability to work in a dynamic environment.
