Job Summary

Thales is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Legal Counsel and Contract Manager to join our team. As a key member of our legal department, you will be responsible for reviewing and managing contractual agreements, identifying and mitigating risks, and providing expert legal advice to our project teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contract Management: Draft, structure, and implement contractual documents to establish and maintain good business relationships with customers.
  • Legal Research and Analysis: Conduct thorough legal research and produce opinions on contractual matters, ensuring compliance with internal processes and external regulations.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with contractual agreements, ensuring the protection of company interests and project profitability.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with project teams, procurement, finance, and other departments to ensure effective communication and coordination.
  • Compliance and Governance: Ensure compliance with internal and external regulations, including government procurement policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Education: Law degree (LLB, JD) and current membership in a provincial bar association in good standing.
  • Experience: A minimum of five years of experience practicing commercial law for a law firm, government, or corporation.
  • Skills: Working knowledge of government procurement policies and procedures, familiarity with hardware, software, and technical data controlled under the Canadian Export Control List, and ability to obtain a Canadian NATO Secret clearance.
