Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medication Aide to join our team at Sunrise Senior Living. As a Medication Aide, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest quality of care for our residents by administering medications and treatments in a safe and organized manner.

Responsibilities
  • Administer medications and treatments to residents in accordance with their individualized care plans.
  • Review and document medication administration records to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Resident Care Director and Wellness Nurse to ensure seamless medication management and resident care.
  • Participate in daily Cross Over meetings to discuss resident care and medication management.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of Individualized Service Plans (ISPs) and monthly updates.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA/British Columbia Workers Compensation Act and Occupational Health and Safety Regulation requirements.
  • Practice safety procedures at all times, including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), fire extinguishers, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and Lockout Tagout procedures.
  • Report all accidents/incidents and unsafe/hazardous conditions/equipment immediately.
  • Participate in training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge in medication management and resident care.
Requirements
  • High School diploma/GED accepted and may be required per state/provincial regulations.
  • Previous experience working with seniors preferred.
  • Ability to make choices and decisions and act in the resident's best interest.
  • Ability to react and remain calm in difficult situations.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Possess written and verbal skills for effective communication and level of understanding.
  • Demonstrates good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
