Job Summary
Gibson Energy is seeking a skilled Laboratory Technician to join our team in Moose Jaw. As a Laboratory Technician, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining laboratory instruments, performing laboratory testing, and ensuring the quality of our products.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform laboratory testing on samples, including flashpoint, distillation, viscosity, and other tests as assigned.
- Prepare lab solutions and standards used in analysis and quality control.
- Prepare samples for analysis according to applicable procedures.
- Ensure lab chemicals are properly labeled and stored safely.
- Perform instrument maintenance and quality control as per procedures and recommended best practice.
- Utilize and maintain technology related to lab operations, including instrument control and system interfaces, LIMS, and data reporting.
- Collect samples from various locations and transport them to the laboratory.
- Perform administrative tasks, including data review and entry into LIMS and applicable data reporting tools.
- Maintain a safe work environment and comply with Gibson Energy's safety policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Chemical Technology Diploma or equivalent education.
- Knowledge of ASTM testing standards for asphalt and petroleum products.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
