Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Lakeridge Health. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, quality, and timeliness of pharmaceutical products and releases.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reporting to the Manager, Pharmacy, you will be accountable for the technical aspects of drug distribution and work to ensure patient safety.
  • You will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and quality of pharmaceutical products and releases.
  • Collaborate with the Pharmacy team to achieve seamless and efficient dispensing processes.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of inpatient pharmacy dispensing processes, including traditional and unit dose systems.
  • Stay up-to-date with pharmacy automation, including unit dose packaging and automated dispensing cabinets.
  • Utilize strong problem-solving and multi-tasking skills to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Communicate effectively with the Pharmacy team, patients, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Participate in regular in-service education and training to maintain and enhance your skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Registration with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP) as a Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPHT).
  • Graduate of a CCAPP (Canadian Council for Accreditation of Pharmacy Programs) Accredited Pharmacy Technician Education Program.
  • Knowledge of inpatient pharmacy dispensing processes, including traditional and unit dose systems.
  • Experience with pharmacy automation, including unit dose packaging and automated dispensing cabinets.
  • Strong problem-solving and multi-tasking skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Computer skills related to Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
