Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Lakeridge Health. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy, quality, and timeliness of pharmaceutical products and releases.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reporting to the Manager, Pharmacy, you will be accountable for the technical aspects of drug distribution and work to ensure patient safety.
  • You will be responsible for registering with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP) as a Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPHT) and maintaining your registration.
  • Knowledge of inpatient pharmacy dispensing processes, including traditional and unit dose, is essential for this role.
  • Experience with pharmacy automation, including unit dose packaging and automated dispensing cabinets, is preferred.
  • You will be required to demonstrate accuracy, organizational skills, problem-solving, and multi-tasking skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills are necessary for this role.
  • You will be part of a team environment and will be required to work effectively with others.
  • Computer skills related to Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel, are preferred.
  • You will be expected to demonstrate a commitment to our core values of Compassion, Innovation, Courage, and Trust.
  • You will be required to participate in regular in-service education and demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices.
Qualifications
  • Registration with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP) as a Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPHT)
  • Graduate of a CCAPP (Canadian Council for Accreditation of Pharmacy Programs) Accredited Pharmacy Technician Education Program
  • Knowledge of inpatient pharmacy dispensing processes
  • Experience with pharmacy automation
  • Accuracy, organizational skills, problem-solving, and multi-tasking skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Computer skills related to Microsoft Office
Conditions of Employment
  • The terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Hospital and OPSEU Local 348.
