About the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled Career Development Coordinator to join our Centre for Calling & Career Development (CCCD) team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting international students and work-integrated learning experiences to ensure graduates are equipped for success in their careers and personal lives.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to deliver virtual and in-person services. You will be knowledgeable about labour market trends, particularly those affecting international students, and possess a strong understanding of career development principles.
Key Responsibilities- Resume Building and Interview Prep: Provide group and individual workshops, as well as one-on-one coaching sessions, to help students enhance their resumes and prepare for interviews.
- Career Coaching: Offer personalized career guidance and support to students, helping them navigate career transitions and job searches.
- Event Coordination: Organize logistics for events such as workshops, webinars, hiring fairs, and other career-related activities.
- International Student Support: Assist international students with career challenges, ensuring they receive the necessary support to succeed in their careers.
- Labour Market Research: Stay informed about key labour market trends, issues, and newcomer service providers to connect students with valuable resources.
- Experiential Learning: Coordinate forms and processes for experiential learning opportunities like internships and co-op programs.
- Career Education Initiatives: Participate in larger career education initiatives, collaborating with the CCCD team and providing support as needed.
- Bachelor's degree required; liberal arts preferred.
- Certified Leadership/Career/Life Coach certification is a plus.
- Experience working with immigrant, refugee, or international students is beneficial.
