Corporate Counsel, Construction and Infrastructure

Role Summary: We are seeking a skilled Corporate Counsel, Construction & Commercial to join our team at Teck, one of Canada's leading mining companies.
About the Role: As a key member of our legal team, you will provide timely and useful legal advice and services in support of Teck's business, including its expanding project portfolio. You will work closely with members of Teck's project development group and commercial teams, as well as other members of the legal group.
- Key Responsibilities: Provide advice and guidance on engineering, consulting, construction, and project contracting, including tender and procurement documents, drafting and negotiating contracts, supply chain matters, and dispute resolution.
- Support Business Growth: Serve as the primary legal partner for the project development and commercial teams, developing collaborative business relationships that drive value and mitigate risk.
- Leadership and Development: Lead and develop one legal advisor supporting projects and commercial activities, organizing work and providing opportunities for growth and development.
- Transaction and Policy Advice: Provide transactional and policy-based legal advice and services to the company's business units on other commercial matters.
Requirements: A Juris Doctor Degree (J.D.) or Bachelor of Laws Degree (LL.B.), minimum six years of legal experience primarily in construction and infrastructure management and project development arrangements, with exposure to related dispute resolution. Strong drafting skills, commercial acumen, and ability to collaborate with a wide range of customers required.
