Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Bus Mechanic to join our team at Putnam City Schools. As a key member of our transportation department, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and reliable operation of our district buses and automotive equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues with district buses and automotive equipment.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on all vehicles, including inspections and documentation.
  • Assist in the training of garage employees and promote a culture of safety and excellence.
  • Obey all traffic laws and district policies, and report any accidents or incidents.
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance and repairs, and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certification in automotive repair preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in bus maintenance or automotive repair.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Working Conditions:

This is a full-time position, 12 months per year, with a salary and work schedule according to the current district schedule.

Evaluation:

Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with district policy.
